Laptop HD failure, Need help

I have a friend that needed help on fixing her laptop. I wasn't informed that it was a laptop till just now.

She thinks that the hard drive is dead. If so how impossible is that to replace, and what is the availability of new parts.

I will Edit when I know more about the machine... Has anybody worked on this type of problem before???

Thx!

EDIT: The laptop is a JetBook??? I'm gunna see what it can do right now... Thx.

Most laptops use standard 2.5" hard drives with a thickness of from 9.5mm to 12.5 mm. The maximum capacity of the drive is a function of the laptop's BIOS. There are a few exceptions, but generally speaking, hard drives are user replaceable in laptops.

What kind are we dealing with and what model?

Looks like it might have been just people not knowing what a computer is. I think that it was a Windows Prob. Seems to be working fine.

I'll reply if there are any problems.

~Thx
