laptop hard drives

anyone know where I can pick up a 5400 rpm or maybe even a 7200 rpm hard drive for my notebook? How do I find out what size the hard drive is? I remember someone posting a site awhile ago and they had some very cheap notebook hd's.

I just ordered a Hitachi 7200 RPM, 60 GB Travelstar - $190 with shipping. Can't beat that! And that was from NewEgg just about 30 minutes ago. 🙂

Tell me how it works out for you...I'm tempted to replace the 40GB drive in my thinkpad with 7200RPM beast...

This is my second one - I have already been using one for a month - it works out fine. It is faster and of course, bigger. I replaced a 40 GB 5400 Toshiba w/8MB buffer. I always have two with one fully being the duplicate of the other. Once cloned, it resides in my desk drawer in a safe place. That way I have a 100% backup drive ready to go. I am getting the second one because the first one worked so well. 🙂
