I replaced the stock HD in my Powerbook with one of those 5400RPM Hitachi ones.

I just noticed that when I power down the hard drive makes a quick buzz/squeal before stopping. It's pretty loud and it happens every time. Is this normal or could something be wrong with the heads as they park?

Is it an actual PowerBook (ie: Apple) or is it a generic laptop?

They have fake Powerbooks?

This is an Apple Powerbook. I don't see how Powerbook would mean anything else than an Apple Titanium G4 laptop.

Some ppl call their Wintel laptops PowerBooks .... Don't ask me why but I've heard/read lots of people do it.

Have you run any diagnostics on the disk?

Apparently the sound is normal according to some other people who have the same drive. So that's that I guess. :)
