Laptop goes to sleep after logging out - how to prevent?

I started a new job where I am remote desktoping into a windows XP laptop to do some work. After I log out, I need to get back on again later at night. Well, the laptop is going into sleep mode for some reason, so I can't connect. This lid is not shut. The power settings are set to be Always On/Never Sleep. It seems to be ok as long as I'm logged in (though I haven't gone idle for super long). It seems after I'm logged out, at some point over a several hour period, it sleeps.

Anybody have a clue on how to prevent this? Should my power options still be valid even after I log out? Or is there some system-wide power option I need to be setting to take affect in the logged out state?
