I have a dell laptop, one of the problem is that it heats up way too much. Is there a way to prevent it from overheating?

Another issue is that my laptop has been freezing often. After 15 minutes turning on my computer, it'll freeze. It's up to the point where it'll freeze just when I have winamp on.

Help!!!

It may be locking up due to the heat. Call Dell's tech support and ask if they have reports from others of similar problems with your model and whether they have a fix for it.

If it's out of warranty, they may not help you without charging you, but at least, it's a toll free call.

If you want more help, start by posting the model number. Also, try searching Google for your model number with the word, "heat" to see if others are having the same problem.

Good luck. :)

As far as overheating you should get a laptop cooler. Dells should come with these straight out of the box. On another post someone recommended trying it without the battery just ac power to see if it was a battery issue. This issues is very common with this computer. One person had another computer running nearby and when he/she seperated the two his 1525 stopped freezing. hmmm. anyways if you have a way to return this computer i would do that to tell you the truth. Another poorly made dell laptop. But if not update your bios and all your drivers. This helped another person. But definitely get a laptop cooler. Newegg sells them starting at 9 bucks. Hope this helps. Peace
