Laptop Format and Repartition ?

I just got a duron 800 vaio. my 1st lappie 🙂 i wanna format it and repartition bc i dont like win ME and they made my 10 gig into 2 partitions not to mention all the crap they loaded. I want a fresh instal of win 2k. SO do i just do this as I would any other comp? Format, FDISK, then run the install? Just wondering... THANX
 
fdisk, then format. It's actually pretty straightforward on a vaio (I've done it before).
