Laptop for college

I'm about to make a decision on purchasing a laptop (Dell Inspriron E1505 w/ WSXGA+ panel). However, Anandtech's recent article on various laptop screens' quality has me worried as I intend to use my laptop for an extensive amount image editing and I will not have space next year to buy a desktop LCD.

Does anyone know how good or bad the E1505 screens are in terms of color accuracy, contrast, and brightness? Which screens would be better than the Dell in terms of the aforementioned criteria? From what I've heard, the Asus G1s and G2s, and LG screens are some of the best. As a side note, I do intend to purchase a color calibrator.

Thanks for all your advice.

i think the cheaper laptops probably only have 6 bit color panels. theres a few that offer 8bit color reproduction... but offhand, i cant remember which. i think maybe a few ibm laptops offer them.. or used to
