Laptop Floppy Drive

Friend of mine has a Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop. His GF recently got an IBM Thinkpad 240 (Japanese Model). I noticed that on both units the floppy connector is the same. Would it be possible to use the same floppy drive for both computers?
