I've given my dell 6000 inspiron tender love and care since I purchased it in 2004, the centrino processor and x300 video card has still proven the test of time, but after years of abuse (this is used DAILY for minimum of 3 hours, sometimes all day for some days) many travels, I believe it has finally bit the dust.

The battery could have used a replacement, but we ended up just using AC power to ignore the issue.

All of a sudden we would get alot of monitor flicker, which meant that it was switching rapidly from AC power to battery power, adjusting pwr saving mechanisms, due to the fact that the AC plugin gradually loosening from the motherboard.

Well, it's so bad now that it barely reads the AC adapter so its been near impossible to charge the battery at all or to even use AC power. Add onto that, I have been getting black screen from a loose LCD connection to the main base.

Ohhhhhh I don't want to buy another one.

Any chance these are all related to dead battery issues and not AC power issues?
