im thinking of replacing my desktop with a x1000, but as on any laptop, the audio solutions are limited. im curious if anybody's used an extigy before and has any comments.

i am planning to attach some mid-end speakers, possibly 4.1 THX to this set-up....is this advisable? am i going to get the same quality i do on my desktop??

I own an extigy for my carputer. I have hooked it up to my T40 for S/PDIF pass through. Sounds really good and works well.

I've been using one on my desknote for a while on a pair of Z-560s, and it sounds pristine. I'm actually selling one too. 🙂 Link Here Getting vinyl siding on the house, so pretty much everything computer related that isn't vital or nailed down's gotta go. 🙁

I used an Extigy with my old Dell Inspiron 8200 and it worked quite well. Sound quality seemed as good as, if not better than a PCI card. I would recommend it.
