Laptop / external kb problem

At work I use a Dell Latitude CPi. It's in the dell docking station and I use an external dell quietkey keyboard. Occasionally (maybe 3x a week) the external kb just quits working. The kb in the laptop still works, the external mouse still works, everything works but the kb. A restart fixes the problem. It seems to happen mostly when I'm using netscape, but since I'm in netscape most of the day, I'm not sure that it's connected. Any idea what's wrong or how to fix?
 
Make sure running latest BIOS. I used to work with dell CPi's.....always releasing BIOS's.


Try replacing keyboard with another.....better?

Or....does Dell have a system-util? Might help keep connections.....
