Laptop Dual Monitor solution

I have been dealing with Dell computers for some time and they have docking stations that support dual monitor output. I recently acquired two Sony VGN-SZ961N Laptops and need to be able to offer that same dual monitor output function. The Sony docking stations to not support dual monitors so I am looking for a 3rd party solution.

Anyone handled this before using a laptop spread to 2 monitors having an extended desktop? I don't want the same screen duplicated rather an extension of the desktop to create more working space.
