Laptop display had it?

Hi folks, has my mum's laptop had it? Graphics are up to date but the display has suddenly gone odd. A mix of colours and a white Google page is mostly blue.

Any ideas or is it time for a new laptop?

thanks

Ok, it displays fine on the TV so it must be the screen or connection to it. Is it worth taking it apart?

I replaced the screen on a Dell lappy a long time ago. It wasn't difficult. The connector is a small part subject to a lot of stress. Maybe look there.

To answer that quantitatively, one needs to know the make and model of mum's lappie. If the cost to replace the screen exceeds the current value of the notebook, then, IMHO, no.

It's a HP PAVILION G6-1378SA and I guess it could also be a dodgy cable and if it were a new screen might not fix it.

That's a good point. Looks like that model was released in May of 2011 - makes it 5+ years old. Maybe time for new one.
