Laptop disables internet

I have a HP laptop running win7 64 and as of two weeks ago everytime my wife turns it on my desktop loses the internet and the laptop cannot get on to the web also. I thought this was my crappy dsl service but last night i found out it was the laptop. If I shut down the pc the laptop gets internet and if Ishut down the laptop the pc gets it. The router in question is the WRT110. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the Internet get lost at the WAN port, or the computers can not connect to the Router?

Not sure where it gets lost at but I cannot even log into the router nor the westell modem at all. Both the laptop and PC give me the internet connection error screen/troubleshooter I run the troubleshooter and it says reset/reboot the router/modem I do that and it still can't be fixed.

Fixed the issue it was a combo of old firmware (1.04) and some update from microsoft I restored back before my last update and everything worked then I checked for a firmware update for the router and reinstalled the updates and everything is fine now.
