I just recently built a new PC for myself and have an extra VGA connector and cord that could potentially go to a second monitor. Except I don't have one, and although that Dell 1905FP is a tempting deal right now for $283. Thats just money I don't want to put out.
I know there is software such as Maxivista that does this over the network except it runs on the slower side and not nearly as smooth as a hardware cable. Well I have the hardware cable and the desktop recognizes the laptop's monitor except I just can't get it to take input on the cable.
I'm starting to bet that the laptop cannot take input and that this is a lost cause as far as hardware. If anyone knows ways to speed up Maxivista over the network or other programs which function just as good but faster, I'd appreciate any help.
