Me, the network admin, gave the new web guy and option opted to take my Athlon 2400, 512mb 40gb "homebuilt", so now I am in the market for either a laptop or desktop. I am a Dell freak, everything here at work pretty much has a Dell label, or will in the near future. I really dont care, I just want something good.
I want to be able to run all of my normal programs: office 2003, adobe products (photoshop, illustrator, etc), Macromedia Studio MX, network tools, remote desktop, and other misc tools etc, especially at 1600x1200, if at all possible on a 19" monitor (hooked up to docking station on laptop), I will also be using my Logitech Cordless Elite keyboard/mouse. I would also like a DVDRW and gigabit with built in wireless.
I would like to keep it <$2000 and would like it to be extremely mobile if a laptop.

I am not up to date on the centrino processors and how the ghz matches up to a regular P4 processors.
