Laptop - Desktop CPU vs. mobile.

I found some sites which were talking about places using desktop CPUs in laptops. Was just wondering about the feasability of this. I have an old(still functional though) Athlon XP 1100(900mhz, I believe). Wondering if there are any barebone systems I could pick up fairly cheap that I could drop that in. I don't mind picking up a hard drive and some ram for it...

If anyone could advise me, it would be appreciated.

It would be a waste of money.

Considering you can probably find a low end laptop with an XP2000+ or so for the same price you could get a "barebones," I would have to agree.
