My daughter lost everything she owned except the clothes on her back and her car in a wildfire at Pioneertown, CA on July 11th. She was working as an intern to get some experience in the field she want's to get her Doctorate in and is only making $150/month so she is basically living on her savings.
She won't take any help from us, but her birthday is coming up and I would like to get her an inexpensive laptop for her to use when she goes back to school for her birthday present. I really can't afford to spend a lot of money on one, and am looking for something in the $500 to $750 range.
May I please get some advice/opinions on a good laptop/cpu to get for her? Right now I'm looking at a used lappy with a Dothian(sp?) cpu in it.
