ok I have a toshiba sattilite 2435-S55. I for got what the chipset was but i remeber the chipset can suport the uo to a 3.4ghz HT 800fsb running at 533. But the bios is very vry basic. I have bios V1.60. I will love to upgrade up to a 2.8 wuth ht to my cpu witch is 2.4 ghz no HT.
 
It's possible, but the expense would not be worth it. Laptops are not meant to be performance machines, with few exceptions. Heat dissipation is horrible, and there is a good chance that a faster processor will cause overheating problems. Now, a memory upgrade, that's a different story. Max out on memory and then get rid of any background processes that are sucking up performance, and that will make a much bigger difference than going from 2.4 to 2.8.
