Laptop CPU into Desktop PC Feasible?

Hello,

I was given a dead Fujitsu LH531. I am assuming the motherboard is bad. A replacement motherboard on eBay seems to be $100ish, which probably isn't worth it.

The CPU in the LH531 is a i5 sandy bridge 2410M dual core socket FCBGA1023. I have seen some desktop BGA1023 boards on ebay. Would my mobile CPU work in one of those boards?
Is there a preferably mini-itx motherboard that could use this CPU and maybe even the sodimm RAM from my LH531?

thanks

BGA means ball grid array. The CPU is soldered to the motherboard. You don't have the equipment to do this.

One letter makes a huge difference. Is it fcbga or fclga?

rPGA 988B motherboard, don't know if compatible.

But with this price, just buy a new i3 6100T (also 35W TDP) + motherboard

Wow that's a lot of money for a board.

After some digging I found a wiki on this socket also known as Socket G2.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_G2

Chipset looks to be QM77 (I believe QM67 may also work).

Seems the price of a compatible board is not worth it.

I was hoping to find a board for $30ish.

Guess I'll give up on the laptop cpu to desktop transformation.

thanks

Yeah these mobile CPUs are all over ebay for dirt cheap. And they are dirt cheap because no one can find boards for them for a reasonable price.
