Laptop connectivity problem.

I cant get my laptop to connect to the net properly. I refreshed all the settings/restarted. It says TCP/IP isnt enabled, but im pretty sure it is. I have no clue what the problem is. I disabled firewalls etc..


Here is my setup:

The router is in my office . the modem is in another part of the house. I have 300ft of cable running along side the house

You must hook the router up directly to the modem to split up the 1 IP address you are paying for. A switch cannot do this for you. If you simply swap the router and the switch your network should work.
