Laptop Charging/Power Issue

I have two Acer E5-571-5552 laptops. On one of them will not charge the batter or boot when it is plugged in but the battery is out. Since I have 2 of the laptops I have been able to rule a lot of things out. Both batteries are fine, I can charge either of them in the 2nd laptop and when removed it will power the first laptop until it is drained. Both power cords also work fine on the 2nd laptop. Neither power cord can charge either battery in the first laptop.

Now here is where things get interesting. I sent the defective laptop back to Acer where they said it charged just fine for them and sent it back without doing anything other than updating the bios. Sure enough when I got it back it worked fine for about 8 hours before it again stopped charging or booting when plugged in.

Acer is currently refusing to take it back again and as frustrating as that is I don't completely blame them. Anyone have any ideas?

Must be a fuse issues of the power going into the unit. If not a fuse then something blew on it. There are many variables with this and since sending it out means the variables are on your side. But then again those techies sometimes are new hires and don't know anything right away.

First bet would be to buy a new power supply for that laptop having issues.
You could get a magnifying glass and examine the contacts on the battery to see if they are corroded any. Maybe it could be dirty.
