laptop cd/dvd in a desktop?

does a convertor exist for this? in my attempts to make a small media box... i was going to ditch the dvd drive, but thought about laptop drives i might be able to use.... if a convertor exists.

You can get convertors for connecting a laptop hard drive to a standard IDE PC, and I imagine that a laptop dvd/cd drive will use the same connector/convertor, as they are all IDE

right, but it seems like most of the drive's i'm seein are the modular ones... that plug isn't the same as the hd connector now, i'm not sure how universial it is, I'm browsing ebay and there seems to be a general connector....

i dunno. man, it's 6am, and i've slept 2.5hrs in the last 24... damn insomnia or something.
