I like how the case stay on while using your laptop.

Leaving a laptop in a case like that would most likely lead to over heating because the cooling air flow is blocked. A tablet would work, but they do not come in 17-in size.

Are you sure by "always on" they aren't just meaning you can put your laptop in sleep mode and carry it around like that?

The phrase "while using your laptop" cannot be sleep mode.
