laptop card/pcima question

Yes, electronics do generate heat in a general sense. But, sometimes PCMCIA cards can get hot or very warm just by where they are. Example, . . . in my lapotp, the PCMCIA slot is directly above the HDD - which, running at 5400 or 7200 RPM, does creat a lot of heat that is absorbed by the PCMCIA card. But- that heat has never been a problem.
 
I see because my wireless G card generate heat and sometimes it does not work so had to cool it down then it works.
