Laptop cant keep time

My compaq evo n610c doesnt keep time properly, if i shut it off and turn it on the next day the time isnt correct.
The battery is fully charged and it keeps charge, so this doesnt make much sense. Does a laptop have one those little batteries that mobo's have too?
 
Laptop motherboards do have CMOS batteries, so yours may indeed be on its way out. I gather that that would cause the problem that you're having.

Now, this is a stupid question, but are you sure that Windows' time zone settings are correct? Happened to me more than once... 😱
