Which screen resolution would readers recommend for a gaming laptop and some photoshop?
1920 x 1200 or 1680 x 1050?

Also between pentium 4 3.0ghz and 3.2 and 3.4 is there much performance difference?
What do readers recommend?

Why are you going P4? P-M and Turion are far superior for gaming... And to answer your question, 1920x1200. P-M or turion will give you much more speed at a much lower temp in a smaller package with much more battery life than P4 ever could. And if i may, what lappy are you looking at specifically?

Alienware 7700 I know ther are other brands on this chassis but really want this model
Will be plugged in most time is there much difference in performance in the chips I listed?

Not to dodge the question but andrewbabcock speaks the truth. My T-42 w/ a 1.7 P-M runs circles around my wife's laptop (Toshiba) w/ a P4 3.2 - not even close

Yeah get a 9300 like i have...If you can get a coupon it would be better. And the great thing about a 9300 is, while you will have it plugged in most of the time, i unplug it from time to time for 4 hours or so of surfing, etc. It will do 2 or so for intense gaming also. If i were you, i would go with a 9300 with my specs. You can't really get it at $2400 shipped unless you can get a military discount as there are no more good coupons...
