Laptop buying advice needed

I'm so torn on laptops right now. Could someone help me out? Wife needs a laptop to do college classes on at home, uploading videos from her digital camera onto the laptop, word processing, etc. Would also be hooking up the laptop to my home theater system for movie playback somtimes, so HDMI is a must. Not really doing any gaming on it. Would like something that is a little future proof as well.

Budget: $500-$700

Must haves:
Intel CPU - At least an i5
HDMI
8gm RAM minimum

Would like:
256gb SSD or 128gb SSD + storage drive
