Laptop. Broken.

Damn it. I just flashed the bios and the stupid thing won't boot. Back to IBM it goes.

Before anyone asks, yes, I flasehd the bios correctly. Yes, I used the right BIOS version. Just one of those unlucky occurences, I guess. :|

The bios flash program started just fine, reporting finishing just fine, then asked me to hit enter. I did. The system froze. I let it sit there for several minutes, no reboot. Call tech support. Machine broken. :|

Bleh. At least it's still under warranty.

If it wasn't under warranty, there are a LOT of things that you can try...

I once accidentally flashed a Geforce 2 Ultra bios onto a Geforce 2 GTS (same brand). It was a dumb mistake. The screen wasn't readable...

So, I got on my laptop and just wrote an autoexec.bat onto a floppy along with the bios files. Then, I remembered the sequence to press after the beeps. Took me a try or two, but finally worked. I'm using that very card right now. 😉

WTF, it broke again?

Rob, you just don't have good luck with laptops do ya?
First time was my fault (being dumb installing the new HD). This time, though, I don't know WTF happened. I seem to have horrible luck w/laptops. Oh well. Like I said, it's under warranty. IBM customer service rocks.
