I tried updating the bios on a compaq armada m300 notebook, but the process did not execute properly since the floppy disk had some physical problems with it that were not apparent until the flash process failed. Who/What can reflash or replace the bios rom chip on the armada motherboard? I removed the motherboard and would like to send in for the appropriate persons to reflash or replace the bios rom chip. Can anyone please help me?

Can you tell if the BIOS chip is socketed? If it is, there is a regular on the ATF that does this sort of thing but I've forgotten his handle. He advertises his ROM burning/programming service in his sig. Otherwise you'll probably have to send it off to HP/Cpq while bending over and touching your toes... I found this site via Google - don't know whether it's the guy here or not. I suppose you could ask in your first email.

Unfortunately the bios chip is NOT socketed. So, it will probably need to be desoldered and resoldered...or dealt with accordingly. BUT, I've heard that companies exist that do this sort of thing. I just want to send the mainboard in so it can be reflashed. Will BadFlash.com do this? I plan to call them tomorrow. Where else can I find help in this matter? Thanks for the ebay link, but it was being sold "as-is" and I'd just rather change the bios chip itself.
