Get the dell.
HP Service and support is crap. The first problem you have you'll be on the phone for hours, and your laptop will be gone for months....
User from experience.
After months of frustration i switched to a dell.

if you buy from Dell, do it as small business rather than home user -- otherwise, it's a complete crapshoot as far as "service" goes
 
i got a HP REFURBISHED laptop on Feb 03
everything works fine..i like the look a lot..
I still like it very much today.
the model i got is ze1230 CPU: XP1800+ w/ 512M PC133 Ram
don't need to afraid of the word REFURBISHED that much
