So, you've had 2 HPs, both of which you hated and were horrible.

On the other hand you have had an Acer that you liked and is still kicking.

Also, the Acer is cheaper, sooo I guess my question is, why are you asking the question? 🙂

because i dont know how the new acer model line is... the one i had was sturdy and didnt have many reported problems. neither of my hp's gave me a problem,dv6000 and dv9000, but they had many many many reported problems.

that doesnt mean this time around the hp doesnt have it right and the acer has known problems... you know what i mean?

Well, reported issues are one thing, but not always valid. Also, there is the issue of anecdotal evidence. For example, based on my experiences both personal and what I have seen of friend's systems, Apples last a good long time, Dell Latitudes do as well, Thinkpads are also consistently good. Vaios are hit or miss, as are Toshibas.

But that is just my anecdotal evidence and should be taken with a healthy grain of salt.

Try the keyboard on both of them, if possible. I've seen far too many budget machines with horrible keyboards that have a lot of flex. It may not sound like a big deal at first, but trust me, when typing on your laptop is a burden it's easy to hate the entire machine.

Whichever one has a better keyboard and overall build quality would be my choice.
