Laptop Battery Status??

Windows Xp can't seem to detect the battery. the laptop is a dell latitude cpi d266xt with Windows xp pro installed thanks.
 
if it's the icon not being in systray then have a look in control panel>power options.
if not you'll have to elaborate further.
