Laptop battery question (getting a new laptop)

So Im ordering a new laptop tomorrow and the dell Im looking @ comes w/ the 65Whr battery standard. Or, for an extra $30 I can get the 96Whr battery. Is it worth the extra money?
thanks,

Will you be using it in situations where you need the extra battery life? I'd probably do it as you certainly can't buy another battery for $30, and it's not that much compared with the hundreds of dollar you're already spending.

I'm just getting the inspiron 1100. This is only a secondary computer. I am an engineering student and we use a lot of matlab and I spend a lot of time on campus and I don't have access to matlab when Im on campus. SO Im getting a laptop mainly for that purpose.
