If I leave a laptop just running off wall power for 5 hours a day, with a full battery, will that be bad for the battery?

Also, what's the best practice for a laptop that will be run half off wall power, half off battery?

modern batteries aren't supposed to have any problems with that.

I would take the battery out if it were going to be plugged in for 5 hours "just in case" it does hurt the battery. I have heard from people you should do this even with LIthium ions.

I would take the battery out of the laptop if you're going to use it plugged in.

That is exactly what most manufacturers recommend as well.

people are still hung up on old technology, most any reasonably new laptop uses a lith ion battery which doesn't suffer this effect.
