I have an hp pavilion n5125 and the battery only holds charge for about 25-30 mins and dies. It's out of warranty, i got in november 2000 so what options do i have other than shelling out $160 for a new battery. Is there like a generic brand and shouldn't these things last a few years, i rarely used it if ever.

Bring the old battery to your nearest Interstate Battery store. They can get them for significantly less $$$ there.

interstate?

yea i have the same problem. bought a sony laptop refurb. think i got shafted, the battery hasn't been charged more then 200 times, yet it says its 98% fresh, and it holds basically nothing:p

sony charges absurd amounts for batteries:p 160? bah, i think the better of the two i can choose is 300-400 bux.
