laptop battery monitoring uptime

sorry if this is in the wrong forum, i don't know where the best place for this would be so please move it if its in the wrong spot.

Im running win2k sp4 and im looking for a program to monitor the uptime of the battery, does anybody know of a way to do this? I'm just looking for a way to see just how long my charges are holding

what brand laptop? i know that some manufactorers have custom software to do that.
