ok I just got informed my battery is made by Sony :(

Now I have the battery today When I took it out there was a bump on the plastic. only in the center. the better still fits and works and everything but it looks to me like the Cell is bloated and pushing against the plastic which I think made the bump

now can an expanding battery cell cause a fire?

btw: it shut off 2 times on battery and it turned on instantly after and it works. but It may be a software problem. (amd Power now dashboard) Which read 200C and it shut of 1 sec after that so I think its just the program.

if any one got more confused from reading the (BTW) then forget about it

If your laptop is a dell, go here for the dell laptop battery recall and see if yours is one of the affected (I'm guessing it might be. There are some sony-made batteries that don't blow up BTW). If it is one of the affected ones then cool get it replaced ASAP. If it isn't one of the affected ones then I'd buy a new battery.

HP, apple, and a few others are doing a recall program as well. However Sony itself is not (go figure).

Sony decided to skip a step, and just issue a blanket recall on all potentially affected batteries.

way ahead of you lol, I talk to only 2 people at msi Vincent(ext:141), or Jose(ext143)

I already sent him an e-mail and call him mid day to make sure he read it. and we can discuss. I also Sent it to the guy who told me it was a sony battery that had to contact tiwan. Bassicly I am waiting for that guy to respond and see what he says.

whats this 15 month warranty you speak of. to my knowledge it was only 12 months

Dont worry a lump in a battery it not normal and they wont push me around becusse I know its bad.Ill say you don't see a AA battery with a lump and if you saw it puffing up you wont use it.
