Laptop battery gauge?

I got a new laptop at work, and it's no longer a Thinkpad. One thing I always liked about the thinkpads was the battery gauge that they had installed that was on the taskbar down next to the tray of icons. Does anyone know a free tool that does this same type of thing? I just want to know percentage of charge, time left, time til full charge, etc.

Thanks!

Try using the laptop's Power Meter in the Nitification Area (formerly the "tray.")

PWR

BTW - are you using the laptop at work connected to A/C? If so, remove the battery.

The only problem with that thing is that it doesn't have a constant reminder of the battery status (percent or time remaining on charge). And the icon only has 3 states (full, half, and you better shut down now!)
