Hmm, no wonder you have 18,000+ posts :p

The 2400+ Barton lappy we got could get 3.5 hours. My physics teacher's Dell 600m P-M 1.4 could only get about 1.5 hours.

I'm wondering how bright they had their screen, and if they were doing any work during the test. I've got an Inspiron 1100, and it's not uncommon for me to get 3 hours off a single battery charge (I've got the 2Ghz celery model with 512 MB RAM and the 14.1" screen).

an experiment without indentify the name and model number of the subject. Guess you don't do benchmark test and write for Anandtech? ;)

If you google well, you can find software to monitor the APM battery circuit and give you tons of info like:

- programmed capacity
- true capacity (is your battery not getting the full charge?)
- number of charge cycles
- remaining time left
- instantaneous current draw
- etc. etc.

but I guess your way will work, too. :)

I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that post :D

And as for the battery, that's not very long at all :(
