Laptop battery doesn't charge

Hi,

I've got a problem with my laptop. It's doesn't charge it's battery anymore. This happened after I connected the AC adapter to the laptop with wrong voltage (16V instead of nominal 20V). The laptop could work on battery after that, but it didn't charge the battery anymore. It works fine with an AC adapter.

When the battery wasn't yet completely empty, the battery showed itself full (in Windows power indicator) after being turned off for a night behind the adapter, but when I removed the AC adapter, then it started showing the right capacity again (which was almost 0 because I had used the battery near empty).

The laptop itself is a Clevo D27ES, with a M22ES motherboard (from Everest).

I think that the battery is fine, but what could have happened to the laptop? Is it fixable? Any ideas and theories are welcome.

Thanks
