i have a dell d500, two batteries (media bay and primary)

i just got home, and the battery LED was blinking orange 4 times, green once, repeat....

if you push the test button on the battery, LEDS 1,3, and 5 light up and blink together 4 times

if check battery status while its in the computer, it says "charging" but the charge is stuck as 0%. if i have only this battery and the AC plugged in, and i unplug the AC adapter, the comp loses power instantly...

any ideas? a new battery is $150 bucks :(

i'm in india, i.e. can't call dell support just right now. afaik there is no way of checking BATTERY warranty status online. this happened to me once before, but i was in pittsburgh then. they did send me a replacement, and now that replacement is dead. problem is i can't remember when all that happened... :(

unless you bought battery after you got your notebook, the warranty is from the notebook, you can find it on support.dell.com and enter your service tag
