laptop batteries

bought a IBM thinkpad 600 from a user here at the forums. Im going to get a new/used battery for it, looking on ebay and see generic batteries(HERE)

is there anything wrong with generic batteries? they are about 10 bucks cheaper but is there any real harm in buying a generic laptop battery?

or should I just buy a real IBM battery, also how many of you here have bought *used* batteries off ebay.

thx

i've had good luck with generics so far. but not for computers- for cell phones, cameras etc.

found this auction for IBM batteries, their 33 a piece with cheap shipping, feedback seems legit too. my quesiton is they only say 1 hour of charge, does that seem right for a 266mhz laptop?

j/w ive never owned a laptop before and am a newb in some areas.

please help

i agree with you, i was thinking it would be a good deal to buy 2 of em since they were 33 a piece but the 1 hour thing seems odd. didnt know if that was standard for laptops as old as the one i got
