I'm in the market for a new laptop backpack for school since mine is crap and is falling apart. Any suggestions?

As recommended when I posted a similar thread, the Ogio Metro laptop backpack is awesome.

I have a swiss army brand one that is a decent backpack but I wouldn't recommend - the left shoulder strap is already starting to let go and it's only seen light use.

yours too??? Shame...granted I backpacked europe twice with it....haha. I like the backpack, it just isn't as durable as I wanted a swiss backpack to be.

One of them I was looking at was a Swiss Army bag. Radioshack has one which seemed like a nice bag, but also costs $80 which I don't really want to pay unless it's really worth it.

Seconded. I went through several backpacks before buying this one. It's not cheap, but I've had it for YEARS and it is still as good as Day 1

I had a nice Targus backpack until I loaned it to a friend and he destroyed the zipper on it

The asshole never replaced it either. :|

I love my Swissgear pack. It seams no matter how much stuff I cram in there, it never gets any bigger. I think it has Time Lord technology. Pretty comfy too

Buy a nice backpack with plenty of space, one that doesn't look like a laptop bag, then go find a cheap laptop bag, or a slip cover that has a velcro top, and sew the laptop compartment into your non-laptop bag.

I did this throughout college and law school. Did not want anyone thinking I had a laptop in my bag. Bag looked like any other back pack, without the added incentive for a thief to steal my bag because it had laptop written all over it.
