Laptop backpack $2.99

Big YMMV on this one...
I was at Best Buy this weekend & found a laptop backpack (looks like a regular backpack but has a padded sleeve inside for your laptop) for $2.99 on clearance (Target sells a similar (smaller) backpack for $40).

BTW, if your laptop has anything bigger than a 15" screen you're out of luck - a 15" will fit snugly.

I am big time in the market for a backpack laptop bag. Can you give me some info on the bag such as the Manufacturer and Model?

Manufacturer = Eastpak. Don't know what model. The one I got was red (may come in other colors), found at E. Washington street store in Indianapolis. Also has a lifetime warranty.

Also: I think some Costcos have $15 backpacks that include laptop padding. I've seen 'em before. YMMV.

At our local OfficeDepot, my mom got a $5 bag that looks more like a lappy bag, but it had this really cool converting mechanism so you could pull out straps to make it a backpack or you could bring out one long strap to make it a shoulder bag. Let's just say it was a very versatile laptop bag that we got for $5.

You might also want to check with SVC on the case listed on this page for $14.99. Currently out of stock but you might call ans see if they are going to get it back anytime soon. No, it's not a backpack but it works like a charm and carries all your stuff easily. I found it to be a pretty good deal.

These bags are great. I got the one in this thread (red Eastpak) for $19.99 on ebags.com about 6 months ago. Great bag and very roomy!!
