Laptop as 2nd Monitor?

Did a search and didn't see anything, so...

Does anyone know of a way to use a laptop as a 2nd monitor for another system? i.e. instead of plugging in a 2nd graphics card and monitor, just link up with the laptop and use it?

Obviously this would have to be some kind of software solution, but it doesn't seem impossible that someone has gone and created a system that works over a LAN, treating the laptop's monitor as a virtual display adapter and tricking XP into thinking there's more than one display attached... but of course, if someone has done it, I can't find it. Ideally, a key combination on the laptop would switch between this virtual 2nd monitor, and the laptop's normal display.

So I turn to you, the brilliant ATers. Anyone seen something like this? Anyone want to write it? ::grin::
