Laptop and Core 2?

I am skeptical if it will work, but after reading a topic on your site about laptops with Core 2 I was intrigued. My only problem is I am unable to find the kind of MoBo my laptop uses, Couldn't find it in my product manuals and such, and figured I would try here before opening the case up to find out myself, or use SiSoftware Sandra.

If it's a Pentium 4 of any kind, no. If it had been a Core Solo or Core Duo, you'd at least have a chance. But Pentium 4s in all their forms use different sockets from those used by the laptop Core 2 chips.

The chipset of HP Pavilion zd8000 is Intel 915PM Express (released in January 2005), while Mobile Core 2 Duo (Merom) works only with Intel 945GM/945PM Express chipset (released in January 2006).
