Laptop and accessories for work

Hi all,

I'm looking for help with making a decision on which type of laptop I should get. My intended use is for work in web development in which I'll have ~5-7 programs running most the time with outlook, messenger, two web browsers, editing client and such. I'll also have a developer edition server and database that I"ll occasionally start up for doing my side projects. So RAM I'd like a minimum of 8GB total capacity, ideally upgradable to possibly 16gb but this would not be required. I also want to be able to upgrade to an SSD if it doesn't already have one.

Both at work and at home I don't really intend to use it as a laptop. I'd like to buy a docking station for both places that would allow me to use my keyboard/mouse and two monitors. The caveat at home is I'd also need to buy a KVM of some sort to use my desktops periphs and very easily swap between the two. I want it as easy as possible to plop it in at home and switch between the work PC and computer.

Also is there a way to look up what type of laptops use the "Snaptics" touchpads? If possible I'd like to have a laptop that has solid gestures and touchpad so I'm more likely to work with it when I'm not at home/work. I hate Apple, but have to admit their touchpads are really damn good and would love something up to that par.

So I'm looking for suggestions on 3 things really, but having them all go well together. The laptop, the two docks, and possibly the KVM for home. I haven't bought a laptop in forever so I'm pretty out of all hardware or reliable companies since I always build my own desktops as well. I've looked a bit into lenovo's as I did purchase my mom one a few years back and that's been a pretty solid machine I feel. I'd like to keep the laptop under $800 if possible and then spend what's needed to get the docks and KVM. I've been browsing the Lenovo outlet and don't mind waiting for one I need to pop up there as well. Just unsure of the lowest model range I can go into for what I'm wanting.

Thanks for any help!
