It says
Universal External Power Supply and rechargeable 12 Cell Li-lon battery with up to 3 hours battery life (based on Battery Mark 4.0.1) "

It that's true, that's pretty damn good for a desktop CPU.

Wonder how much this thing weighs....

While the battery *May* be able to keep *something* running for 3 hours, the processor would be the P4M (M for mobile) had it been for a laptop. I am guessing that it is not a mobile processor. Also, watch the heat on this bad boy. Man - I hope it has an air conditioner.

On the weight, most of the cheap laptops weigh a TON compared to their brand name counterparts.

IMHO.

isnt it odd they only take case or debit, because with those two forms there is no purchase protection, seems kinda shady, real shady

it's not shady....Aldi only takes cash or debit for all their stuff...they are a mega cheap grocery store....go there about once a month and stock up..save a ton of $$$$$

Seems to be decent, especially the free pickup and home delivery, in case it craps out. Not bad at all.

Peace

I was questioning this too when my dad saw it in the local ALDI add. We're guessing that they only have a few and it is just a ploy to get people in the store as well. It is an awesomely configured laptop at a good price even for a Celeron... sounds too good to be true. I'd bet it is a boat because the add doesn't mention the weight or size.

I don't agree. With older laptops back in the day because of the size of cpus, heat was an issue. Now with the next generation of latest P4 desktop cpus with their smaller manufacturing process, heat produced is not much higher than their mobile counterparts. Also, these new P4 desktop processors have come a long way with their power management functions, of course not as good as a mobile version. There's many sites that compare the dektop cpus and mobile versions against each other in the same laptops. Heat is no longer a real issue, now it's only a myth. Of course the sites based their results on Compaq, Toshiba and HP "name branded" laptops with P4 processors. Don't know too much about this brand though. The only thing I would be concerned about is the weight. Out of curisity's sake how much does it weigh?

Thanks and just wanted to put in my .02.
