Lapping the Heatspreader on the P4C

no, as long as you get it all off (for the water+soap)

however, I never used any soap. only some water (makes it a bit easier if you have rough edges, and reduces powdery mess getting everywhere). I just don't like using that much lubricant on something designed to be abrasive...

Should I worry about getting dust\maybe a little water, etc into the hole in the heatspreader? Seems unavoidable. This will void the warrantee, right?

Also, how the hell should I hold it while lapping it? :)

don't worry about some dust particles going into the hole as no harm will come if that happens.
you will void your warranty.
you have to put your finger using gentle pressure at the center of the cpu trying to avoid pressuring any pins & use a figure of 8 motion.
